After weeks of allegations, led by Donald Trump, that he was not born in the U.S. and, as a result, not legally able to serve in the nation’s highest office, President Obama released his long-form birth certificate to the public. According to the official document, the President was born in the U.S., Hawaii to be exact, and not in Kenya or Indonesia, as his critics would have you believe.
Fringe groups have been alleging that Obama wasn’t born in the U.S. since he announced his run for the presidency three years ago. At the time, he submitted an official record of birth, a document most states give to anyone seeking a copy of their birth certificate, as proof of his citizenship. But the birthers–those who maintain Obama was not born in the U.S. – didn’t accept that document; they wanted to see his original birth certificate.
The President, who chose to rise above the foolishness, said it was finally time to dispel the rumors because the media was giving more attention to this non-controversy than it was to important national issues, such as the economy and public safety. When Obama released the document, he pointedly compared those who were making an issue out of where he was born to side shows and carnival barkers…and he was right; that is exactly what Trump has become. No one outside of the fringe is taking Trump seriously as a presidential candidate. Instead, people tune in to see what shocking thing he’ll say next. Americans aren’t looking to Trump to leadership – they are looking to him for laughs.
Now, Trump wants to see the President’s school transcripts, saying he doesn’t know how the President, who admitted to not being the most studious youngster, was accepted into Harvard Law. Trump maintains the President got into Harvard because of affirmative action. We don’t know how Obama got into Harvard Law…but he did. And he went on to edit the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year and became president of the journal in his second year. Even if affirmative action opened the doors of Harvard to Obama, he made the most of the opportunity given to him and excelled. And that is all that matters.
The President should not bow to these latest demands…he should treat Trump like the clown he is: trapped in a big media circus of his own making.

Thank you so much Judge Mathis for your input on this matter, I’m so disappointed in how Trump has tried to discredit Persident Obama’s citizenship and now his college transcript. Well I think it’s sad and enlightening that certian Americans field the need to disrespect the President the way that they are. People who claim to be non-racist are showing their true colors. I find the whole situation disheartening as never in the history of Presidents of the United States has one been treated with such disrespect and unkindness as President Obama. It’s truly shameful to say the least. I’m amazed at his ability to continue to “turn the other cheek” and not collapse under the weight of it all. He truly displays the type of dignified man that he is as through it all he’s never once rendered evil for evil, nor has he become outwardly bitter towards those who’ve mistreated him in such a disgusting manner. All the while he continues to smile and hold his head up high…through it all he maintains his dignity.

I cannot believe President Obama felt a need to address this issue! In fact, I was a tad disappointed. However, I supposed he pondered this mess long enough to comment. It’s just tedious that he would have to address this mess. I mean honestly! If President Barack Obama were not born in these divided states, the previous presidential candidates would have disputed this a longggggg time ago. In fact, Barack Obama would not even have been a Senator let alone, an ongoing successful community organizer. Please, for a President’s counterfeit birth certificate to be falsified in 1961 would be the most elaborate scheme ever in America. If someone were able to think that far ahead would have to be smarter than God! That would be like someone – anyone – during the time of Obama’s birth thought of a way to swindle America by forging a Black man’s birth certificate. If anyone were to think that [far] in advance for a Black man to lead these divided states, would have to an absolute genius! If a scheme this great were to be successful, then I KNOW they would have NOT chosen a Black man, as he would be too obvious; he would stick out!

I do not wish to state the obvious as I do not like being accused of “playing the race card.” However, it meant something to me when an elder Caucasian from the South said, “Obama is receiving this flack because he’s Black.”
I did not support or vote for Barack Obama because of the color of his skin. I’m an avid voter, so race never has nor never will be a reason for me to favor one candidate over the other. I believe Obama has done some things that I agree with as well as things that I don’t. you know i never though that I would live to see the day that we would have a black president but I did and to think of the people that are trying to tear him down makes me sick when the other presidents were in office I never heard them ask for proof of anything now allof a sudden the need it. That man is doing his best with what was left in his hands. I think he is wondereful.
I leaned a friend money back in late July 2011 in hopes to get the money back within a week and it has now turned into months the amount was for $900.00 he paid a phone bill of mines which brought the payment down to $820.00 which he still hasn’t paid yet. I want to sue him the only proof that I have that he owes me money is the text messages I have on my phone which he admits to owing me the money. Can I use that as my proof in the courts?
