Inspired by his mother, Alice Mathis, Judge Mathis established the, “Alice Mathis Scholarship Fund.” The scholarship is dedicated to supporting Christian education as a means of overcoming crime, and eliminating poverty-stricken housing projects and drug-ridden communities.

As a child growing up in such an environment,
Judge Mathis honors his mother and all parents like her who sacrifice to educate their children. Though it was a struggle, Alice Mathis chose to spend more for her son’s tuition than for rent, recognizing the need to invest in a brighter future.

As a result of his mother’s selfless dedication,
Judge Mathis overcame many obstacles and now works to provide funding for education. This currently includes funding a new science lab for, as well as scholarships for several young people who attend, Frank L. Peterson Academy. The school is special to Judge Mathis because it is the same school where through her hard work, his mother Alice, was able to send him.

Alice Mathis Scholarships are currently exclusive to Frank L. Peterson Academy for tuition and total up to $_____________ per semester,
per student. Presently we award __________ scholarships each year.
